Shiplake College is delighted to offer high-quality instrumental and vocal lessons courtesy of our superb visiting team of professional musicians.
Individual and shared lessons are available, with all lessons lasting 35 minutes. Lesson times are strictly rotated so that students do not miss the same academic lesson each week. Sixth Form pupils have their lessons in their fixed study periods. Pupils enjoying instrumental and/or vocal lessons must play a full part in the co-curricular life of the Music Department by joining at least one ensemble/choir (this also applies to piano pupils).

Weekly timetables are emailed to all parents and instrumental pupils by early afternoon on the preceding Friday.
Please note that every effort is made to schedule music lessons to avoid pupils’ trips, fixtures and academic tests. For this reason, late changes are generally not possible owing to the likely impact on the rest of the timetable.
