Gulwali Passarlay. author of The Lightless Sky and inspiration for Scruffy Penguin's original piece of theatre, Lightless, is visiting Shiplake to give a talk about his journey from Afghanistan to England. Gulwali turned his inspiring story into a fascinating book, following the turbulent travels as a child migrant, which resulted with Gulwali becoming a political activist and author in England.

Gulwali will visit Shiplake on Monday 28 November, to give a talk in the Lecture Theatre at 6.15pm. Parents, friends and families are very welcome to attend, and encouraged to stay to watch the performance of Lightless following the talk. Please complete the online form below to indicate if you are able to attend Gulwali's talk, or email Director of Drama Mrs Jenny Nunes.
