On Friday 6 October, Shiplake College will be taking part in the UNPLUG challenge. UNPLUG is all about spending one day away from any electronic device – phones, computers, TVs! Students will be encouraged to leave their laptops and phones at home, whilst teachers will be forced to abandon their PowerPoints and return to the classic whiteboard and pen (or even a spot of outdoor learning)! The UNPLUG challenge is intended to be followed for a full 24 hours and so students are strongly encouraged to continue the challenge until the following morning. Don’t worry; all school prep will be technology free too!
To celebrate a day of being completely technology free, the UNPLUG challenge will coincide with a school mufti day. All students taking part in the mufti day and UNPLUG challenge are asked to bring a minimum donation of £2.00. All proceeds will go to Farms for City Children. More about the charity and the UNPLUG challenge can be found here. Please contact Mr Darius Bluck if you would like any further information.
