During the Autumn Term, our Joint Heads and Deputy Heads of College launched a new initiative for the College – Junior Prefects! After submitting a letter of application and a round of interviews, the new Junior Prefects were announced at the end of the term.
Junior Prefects help with the day-to-day running of the Lower school and help staff by encouraging pupils to maintain high standards and to show consideration for others. Part of the role of a Junior Prefect is to do with duties in house and helping the senior prefect team. Another role of the Lower School prefects is to set a high standard around the school with good behaviour.
Additionally, Junior Prefects are expected to:
- To help new Year 7 pupils fit into the school, providing assistance and advice.
- To help prevent any form of bullying and to promote a kind, positive and happy community with good humour.
- To help organize and promote interest in sporting and social events with the Senior Prefect Team for Lower School.
- To mix with fellow pupils and act as a positive and constructive influence on the community.
- To perform routine duties such as getting bread in the morning and monitoring behaviour in the Lower School changing rooms.
- To attend a fortnightly meeting with the Joint Heads of College
