During the summer term, Mr Olhausen 'had a go' at recording a podcast series, giving Shiplake College staff the opportunity to share the eight tracks, one book and one luxury item that they would want to take to Shiplake's own Lynch Island in the River Thames, should they get stranded there (definitely not on the theme of another popular radio programme!).

The episodes, shared with staff on a weekly or even more regular basis, have been a source of joy and entertainment to the listeners and they've enjoyed learning more their colleagues through this wonderful format. We are pleased to now share these with the wider Shiplake community. For the final episode it seemed only fitting that Mr Olhausen was the guest instead of the host, and that he and Mr Ralph visited Lynch Island itself for the occasion.

Episode 1: Mr Ralph (English and College Housemaster)

Episode 2: Mr Milburn (Media Studies and Skipwith Housemaster)

Episode 3: Mr Cooper (Geography and Deputy Housemaster of College)

Episode 4: Mr Beckett (Science)

Episode 5: Mrs Young (Assistant Registrar)

Episode 6: Mrs Pasmore (Registrar)

Episode 7: Mrs Krause (Art and Photography, Head of PSHEE)

Episode 8: Mr Alcock (English and Lay Chaplain)

Episode 9: Miss Jones (Head of Philosophy and Theology and Deputy Housemaster of Skipwith)

Episode 10: Mr Gower (Business Studies)

Episode 11: Mr Burrows (Geography and Head of Eco-Committee)

Episode 12: Mr Pettifer (Mathematics)

Episode 13: Mr Player (Head of History)

Episode 14: Mr Brown (History and Deputy Head Pastoral)

Episode 15: Mr Blackwell (Maintenance)

Episode 16: Mr Zegzdryn (Maintenance)

Episode 17: Mr Shaw (Head of Psychology and Assistant Head Teaching and Learning)

Episode 18: Mr Olhausen (Head of Business Studies and Head of Croquet!)

One staff member commented: "I've laughed, cried, judged (just occasionally!) at some music choices and exclaimed in delight at some absolute belters being picked. I've also added to my 'to read' list. A big BIG thank you to all the guests that have taken part as well."

Mr Olhausen, who has left Shiplake College this summer, commented as the term came to an end: "It's been enormous fun. And the great thing is I can revisit the recordings in years to come as a reminder of my fantastic time at Shiplake College."

Series 1 has been a great hit and we very much hope that Series 2 returns next summer with a new host!
