Shiplake College U14Bs vs The Oratory School
Mr Marcus Milburn offered the following report:
‘The U14B side travelled to The Oratory School for their last game of the season. After captain Will Brunning elected to field first, the Shiplake bowlers made short work of the Oratory batsmen, at one point reducing them to 14-4. Three wickets from Josh Lloyd and two each for Ben Dinsdale and Josh Shortland, with the other two wickets taken by Ethan Magala-Oruna, Josh O-Hare and Will Brunning, ensured that Oratory were all out for 54. Despite Ben Dinsdale being bowled on the fourth ball, Jamie Gibbs and Josh Lloyd only needed nine overs to comfortably steer the 14Bs to their fourth victory of the season.’

Shiplake U15A XI vs Pangbourne College
Director of Sport Mr James Gaunt provided this report from the match:
‘This was a fantastic game of cricket which clearly demonstrated the progress which the U15A XI have made this season. Having lost to Pangbourne at home before half term it was time for revenge! Shiplake captain Freddie Bowcock lost the toss and we were put in to bat. Darius Braun and Olly Brown ran brilliantly from the start, and put on an opening partnership of 65 runs off 72 balls. We were now in a good position. Freddie Bowcock came in and continued the good work. Darius Braun was eventually bowled for 36 after he and Bowcock had added a further 49 to the scorecard. Two wickets quickly followed but some good running between the wickets towards the end of the innings meant Shiplake finished on a total of 138, which was just about par for the course off 25 overs.
The Pangbourne opening batsmen started well, adding 40 for the first wicket before a brilliant ball caught and bowled by Ben Westbrook Burr accounted for the danger batsmen, who had previously scored 80 against us. However, at 71-1 Pangbourne looked in control. The fielding and bowling from then on in was superb with all of Pangbourne’s wickets falling for 45 runs. The bowling figures were all disciplined, but the standout efforts were from Lewis Bishop, who bowled five overs for 20 runs taking three wickets in the process. Darius Braun also took two wickets for just 16 runs, whilst Ben Westbrook Burr opened the bowling conceding just 19 runs in his five overs. Ollie Simpson also bowled with his usual control.
The match finished with Shiplake bowling Pangbourne out in 24.1 overs to win by 22 runs.’
