For the first time, we launched an ‘Art Summer Camp’, which gave current pupils and members of the local community the chance to use the College’s excellent art facilities.

The camp also included expert tuition, for developing new techniques and skills, and involved a variety of mixed media.

The week provided an excellent opportunity to embrace different creative talents, enabling pupils to try out new techniques.

Just some of the different techniques included drawing, oil and spray painting, designing their own gift box, sculpting clay and much more!

Sarah Krause, who was running the art camp, said; “It was important for me to try and change up the different artwork the pupils did. This included taking some of their work outside, where we did the spray painting.

“This first camp was a real success and we’re looking forward to continuing it next year!”

On the last day of the camp, parents were invited to view their children’s work from over the course of the week in an exhibition.

One parent commented, saying that: “It was a fantastic camp for my daughter. She came home every night looking forward to the new things she was going to do the next day. Thank you Shiplake!”
