Today a packed audience of students and staff gathered in the Lecture Theatre to hear one of the most varied and interesting Lunchtime Concerts in recent years.
Our journey took us from Handel to Lynyrd Skynyrd, via Delibes and Imagine Dragons. Faced with the daunting task of opening the concert, H Johnston and L Spence gave a fearless and polished performance of Believer, before accomplished young pianist S Crehan Mills took to the stage to perform Strawberry Flip.
Both J Miller and E Pratt impressed with precise and dynamic work on the drum kit, with J Murray's well-prepared Handel taking us fleetingly back to the 18th century for Thing be the Glory.
A particular highlight was the visit of guest trumpet teacher Mr Rowntree, who joined Year 11 student E Dallas in a performance of Delibes' famous Flower Duet.
Please enjoy a highlights video below! With many more students queueing up to perform, our Lunchtime Concert series promises even more musical treats as the year progresses.
