During the course of this term, pupils have been bringing in contributions to the College's annual Harvest collection. On Monday 11 November, Rev C Briggs and seven of the Chapel Wardens delivered the large number of items to The Churches in Reading Drop-In Centre (CIRDIC).
Whether is was a tin of soup or a whole bag of food or toiletries, our pupils from across the College came together to support CIRDIC. The Centre works to support homeless people within our community who are disadvantaged, giving them a warm welcome and a lovely hot meal to help them get through the day.
It's not only hot meals that the drop-in provides - visitors also have access to a hot shower, clean clothes and toiletries, use of a phone, and specialist support for a wide variety of things. If you would like to find out more about what this amazing charity, visit their website at http://www.cirdic.org.uk/.
Many thanks to pupils and parents for their gifts of non-perishable foods, clothing and toiletries. A huge amount was collected from all Houses. Thanks also go to the Chapel Wardens for their help in delivering the much needed gifts and lastly thank you Rev C Briggs for coordinating the collection. The staff at CIRDIC were enormously grateful for the kindness and thoughtfulness.
