Criminology

Year 13 sociology and criminology students got the opportunity to visit the Old Bailey and the Royal Courts of Justice on their social sciences field trip on Tuesday 21 September.

As part of the trip they saw a jury being sworn in at the Old Bailey for a murder trial!

In the afternoon the students were treated to a visit to the London Dungeon where as well as having a go on the 'Drop Dead:Drop Ride' and some of the fun activities, it also gave them historically accurate detail on crime and punishment in London.

Ms Kate Magee, sociology and criminology teacher, said: "It was a fantastic trip and all the students had a great time while learning lots about the courts system and crime and punishment over the years.

"It really brought to life some of the material they are studying in their final year of Sixth Form."
