On Wednesday 8 March, in celebration of International Women’s Day, members of the Shiplake College community were treated to a special showcase. Performed by our talented drama scholars, the event took place in a packed-out Tithe Barn Theatre.
The event had been curated by the pupils to celebrate great theatrical works that highlight the lives and writing of prominent female artists, writers, scientists, activists and beyond.
Over the course of the evening, members of the audience enjoyed performances of short extracts from texts chosen by the pupils, who ranged from Year 7 through to Year 13.
Monologues, duologues and group pieces were all on the programme and, additionally, members of the audience were entertained by the fantastic double act of Lewis O’Donoghue and Louis Poundall, whose witty hosting guided everyone through the showcase.
