Think Tank - Shiplake's Philosophy and Theology Society for those taking Religious Studies - held two meetings during the first half of the term. The first was to watch an iconic film of the 20th century while indulging themselves with pizza; what more would you want?

The Society members gathered together on Thursday 10 October for a screening of Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code. Though incredibly controversial when the book came out in 2000, a controversy which was reignited with the release of the 2006 film starring Tom Hanks, the furore has died down in recent years, with some students being unaware of any of it. The group, composed of pupils in Years 10-13, enjoyed the fast-paced thriller in the Lecture Theatre accompanied by some of Domino's finest.

Following their successful pizza and film they met up again on Friday 18 October at lunchtime to hear Mr Woolner talk to them about the facts and fiction behind The Da Vinci Code and why it was so controversial when it came out; Was Jesus married to Mary Magdalene? Did she carry his child away to France after the crucifixion? Has a secret society been hiding the truth from the world for two thousand years? If you didn’t come along, you may never know!

Thank you to Mr Woolner for running the society and he would like to thank all those who attended and claimed their THINK TANK lapel pins.
