We have been celebrating National Poetry Day today with lots of activities in English lessons.
Year 8 were working on blackout poetry, Year 7 have been writing riddles and year 9 have been writing poetry in the style of the poets that they are currently studying.
National Poetry Day is the annual mass celebration on the first Thursday of October that encourages all to enjoy, discover and share poetry.
The Day starts conversations, it encourages love of language and showcases the ways in which poetry adds value to society.
