Today, Thursday 3 February, is Harry Potter Book Night and we celebrated at Shiplake by taking pupils and staff on a magical Hogwarts journey at lunchtime through a fantastically decorated servery with Harry Potter themed food and treats. The maggoty haggis fingers (sausages to us muggles) went down a treat with the butterbeer and acid pops!
Harry Potter Book Night is extra special this year because it is the 25th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. This year's theme reflects the magical journey that the Harry Potter books have taken so many millions of people on since the first book published on 26 June 1997.
And what better week to celebrate the brilliance of Harry Potter? It's also National Storytelling Week. A week dedicated to promoting and encouraging storytelling in classrooms.
