The Year 10 GCSE Business Dragons' Den competition is an annual event that gives our students the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges, or "dragons", which comprises staff from the marketing and business departments. The aim of the event is to provide a platform for our students to develop essential skills such as problem-solving, public speaking, and teamwork while encouraging them to think creatively and explore the world of business.

The students were given the challenge of creating a product or service that could be sold into the sports and leisure industry. There were a range of innovative and creative ideas presented during lesson-time, with five of the 18 teams making it to the final, where they pitched to the dragons and had to answer various questions about their product/service.

Designed by Oli Beaney and Charlie Watkins, Head in the Game was a multi-purpose helmet that could be used for different sports.

The Easy Recovery Pillow, designed by Lucas Moore and Charlie Rees, was the ultimate in pillow design helping users with their sleep and sports recovery, with built-in massage, heating and cooling features.

Harry Carlsson and Lorenzo Pedrett's E-Shoe was an innovative take on the popular Heelies but was designed with the extreme sports enthusiasts in mind.

Frox, the ultimate travel/sports bag with multiple compartments, including smell-proof pockets and tracking pack, was Freddie Adcock and Ethan Iu's innovative idea.

But the winning idea came from Evan Greenway who impressed the judges with his product Airclip. With the tagline "all a bike needs", this neat bicycle resource/repair kit that could be attached to the bike frame really was the ideal solution for any biking enthusiast. Evan impressed the judges with his professional pitch and his calm ability to answer all the dragons' questions. Evan was presented with a winning trophy by the Headmaster, Mr Howe.

Congratulations to all the participants for making it such a memorable and impressive event.
