GCSE Results 2020

Year 11 pupils received their GCSE results this morning based on the Centre-Assessed Grades submitted by the College. The results see the 2020 cohort achieving 33% 9-7 and 94% at 9-4. Speaking from the new Sixth Form Centre development, which is in the very final stages of completion, Headmaster Mr Tyrone Howe said:

"Congratulations to the Year 11s on their results this morning. It's been the most interesting and slightly unique and chaotic lead up to exam results, but the main thing is that the grades the pupils have received are the grades that their teachers believe they deserve, based on two years of attainment and work ethic. So if you're sitting there with a smile on your face it means that rightly you can give yourself a pat on the back. We wish all the very best of luck to those pupils going on to pastures new and who will not be with us next year. We are also welcoming lots of new pupils into Year 12, as well as those returning from Year 11, and it is our responsibility to make them feel welcome. They will have the new Sixth Form Centre to enjoy, to socialise with each other and get to know one another for their new Sixth Form experience. Today has been a good day for Shiplake College but what's really important is that in 10 days' time when you return to school that we make the strongest possible start right from day one, embarking on their Sixth Form subjects. We all look forward to seeing you at the start of September."

We really enjoyed welcoming a number of the Year 11s back to the College to collect their results in person, which provided a number of opportunities for son and parent photos!
