A Full College Service was held for Easter, and Reverend Stephen Cousins was joined by the Right Reverend Jonathan Goodall, the Bishop of Ebbsfleet. The entire College population, staff and students alike, congregated in the Sports Hall for a service to remember and celebrate the occasion of Easter.
The Right Reverend Jonathan Goodall opened proceedings with an amusing yet touching anecdote about a young alien who crash lands in the College, and discovers a trombone. Making reference to the College’s growing reputation as a place that nurtures musical talent, the Bishop went on to explain how a trombone to an alien would seem such a bizarre item; its use as a musical instrument would be somewhat lost on an alien! The purpose of the story was to encourage understanding and empathy.
Music was provided by the Chamber Choir. The service was very poignant, and provided time for reflection. The Headmaster commented that Full College Services are ideal for encouraging students to lead an actively spiritual life.
