Rugby Players Celebrate Season

The Rugby Awards took place during the last week of term, to celebrate the outstanding achievements of boys involved with the sport across the season. The Awards, which took place in the Lecture Theatre, provide the ideal opportunity for Head of Rugby Mr Sam Beckett and Director of Sport Mr James Gaunt, along with the coaches for the teams, recognise the effort and commitment of the pupils throughout the season.

Awards were given for such categories as Player of the Season, Most Improved and Outstanding Service, recognising the hard work and dedication of the boys involved. Senior rugby players enjoyed a black tie dinner to celebrate the season. 1st XV Captain Charlie Sichel has worked tirelessly this season, keen to better himself during training and develop a tight knit squad. He was awarded the Player of the Season award for his team. Jonnie Reed, who suffered an injury early in the season, has spent time coaching teams from Lower School. As well as being given a signed rugby ball from the appreciative younger players, Jonnie also received the Plato Plate for his continuing commitment, even in the face of hardship.
