Having been selected to row for Great Britain in the Coupe de la Jeunesse, both Henry Blois-Brooke and Will Carey headed to Poznan, Poland, to complete the racing against the world’s greatest junior rowers. Great Britain hadn’t won the competition since 2013, so tensions were high as the 1st VIII rowers joined their fellow athletes to compete. Henry was rowing in the eight, and Will was rowing in the coxed four, amongst 51 rowers competing for Great Britain in total.

The weekend was an exceptionally victorious one; every GB rower came away with at least one medal! Both the coxed four, and the men’s eight, achieved double gold, topping the podium twice. The outstanding results meant that Britain won both the men’s and women’s competitions, as well as the overall trophy for the 13th time in the Coupe’s 31-year history.
