Former Rugby Union captain Jason White visited Shiplake College this week for an intensive afternoon of training and coaching.

This week, Director of Rugby Sam Beckett welcomed rugby legend Jason White to the new field here at Shiplake. The ex-Scotland player spent this Monday afternoon coaching as many as 30 of our finest rugby players and pushing them to Union standards.

The 19-time captain of the Scotland Rugby Union team now spends his time coaching students across Great Britain and today starts his new career training to become a fully qualified P.E. teacher.

Another man who knows his way around the pitch is Director of Rugby Mr. Sam Beckett who said

'It was great to have Jason here with us. The boys took the opportunity to show off their technique and more importantly their talent. They asked some great questions about his experiences on and off the pitch. We're always striving to show the boys that hard work and effective training leads to success, and Jason is definitely testament to that!'

In 2006, Jason was named The Famous Grouse Scotland player of the year for the season 2005-2006. We wish Jason all the best in his ventures into sports education and would gladly welcome him back for some training and coaching from our world class teachers here at Shiplake.
