Rugby Awards 2019

The end of the Autumn Term means the rugby XVs season also comes to an end, and this was celebrated with the annual Senior Rugby Dinner in the Great Hall, as well as Junior Rugby and Lower School awards afternoons. This term, 14 teams played 125 matches, scoring a total of 2276 points (and allowing 2101 points against). There were 289 players involved, meaning a fantastic 69% of boys represented their College this term.

Head of Rugby, Mr Beckett says: "Many thanks to the players, coaches, referees, medical, catering and grounds for all their hard work this year. And behind every player on the field is a support network of parents; on behalf of the players and the coaches, we thank you."

There were also a number of Year 9 pupils across the A-C teams who received a TREDS (Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, Sportmanship) certificate for displaying the core values of rugby throughout the season.

U12s and U13s

The Lower School teams came together in the Lecture Theatre to celebrate their season in style. In addition to season reports, awards were given for Bravery, Clubman, Players of the Year, Breakthrough Player and Most Improved. There was also a Q&A with some 1st XV players and they watched the highlights videos from Friday Night Lights 2018 and 2019.
