Last week Shiplake College hosted a virtual 'psychology themed' university challenge against Queen Anne's School. Team member Katie Baxter provides a review of the competition:
"The tension was stirring, Google Meets were being joined, psychology team photos were being taken - Miss Pye’s dog Poppy and a bell included (if you get it you get it). Despite certain extraneous variables and methodological issues (connection, sound etc), eleven rounds were undertaken. The whole lot was involved; biopsychology, attachment, memory, research methods, social influence and, of course, psychopathology. A gallant effort from the Queen Anne’s girls scored them a grand total of eighty-five points, yet their swiftness ran short against the Shiplake challengers. Shiplake took the questions by storm gathering a total of one hundred and fifty points. An enjoyable experience and useful revision tool for both sides!"
Psychology teacher and organiser of the challenge, Miss Pye, added: "The competition was closely contested and I was very impressed with both teams' knowledge and enthusiasm. The competitive quiz served as a great revision tool for the Year 13's assessments. We look forward to welcoming Queen Anne's back next year for an in person university challenge."
