Whole School Pastoral

It's Mental Health Awareness Week this week (9-15 May) and Mr Brown has been raising awareness in Whole School Assembly and around the College of who you can talk too if you need help, support or just a chat about what is on your mind.

The week, which is sponsored by mental health charity, Mind is themed around knowing who you can turn to. Research shows that 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem each year. But many of us don’t know where to reach out for support or how to share what we’re going through.

It is a particularly stressful time of the year with end of year exams, so it's important pupils are aware of the support on offer. The posters going up around College today give information on who you can go to for a chat including: the school counsellor, The Rev (through his drop-in sessions where every pupil has received a calling card), the Medical Wing, parents, staff, tutors, perfects and chapel wardens to name a few. There is also information on who you can talk to outside of the College.

As part of Friday tutor sessions, Mr Brown is also encouraging tutors to hold these outside to help promote positive mental health #FeelGoodFridays.
