We are delighted to announce that we have had four winners in the Henley Youth Festival Art Competition!

Well done to R Stewart (Year 9) and Polina Brown (Year 7) who both won ‘Highly Commended’ in their age category. Congratulations to Evan Greenway (Year 11) who won 3rd Prize in his category, and a huge congratulations to Mo Britton (Year 8) who won 1st Prize in his category.

The Henley Youth Festival Art Competition is our local competition and a competition that we have done very well in over the last few years; last year alone, we had six winners. It is open to all year groups, and entrants were required to create a piece of art that reflects the 2024 theme: My Favourite Things.

Artists were allowed to paint, draw, photograph, make a collage, or sculpt in paper, clay, wood or any other medium. There was also an opportunity to also mix and enter as a collaborative project.

Head of Art, Miss Jiggens, said:

‘15 Shiplake students entered this year's Henley Youth Festival Art competition. The theme was to produce a piece of artwork on 'My favourite things' and we were delighted to have four winners! These pupils have been invited to the prize giving ceremony on Sunday 10 March at Henley Town Hall.

We are so proud of them, and this shows the amazing artistic talent we have here at Shiplake.’
