The Junior Production has been announced and the actors are gearing up to perform Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island! Their biggest challenge yet, the Shiplake Drama Department will be staging a contemporary version of the much-loved play in the Tithe Barn. Combining award-winning playwright Bryony Lavery’s hilarious script with an ambitious changeable set, Shiplake’s very own folie artist team and a group of shanty singers, this production claims to be the most exciting and action-packed the school has ever seen!
The play begins in the Benbow Inn, with lead protagonist Jim Hawkins (played by Callum Theodorou) and his hugely eccentric Grandmother (played by Josh Williams). With Josh O’Hare adopting the part of Dr Livesey, Charlie Bradshaw playing Squire Trelawney and Duncan Eglington playing Mrs Crossley, the actors are ably supported by a fantastic cast who will take the audience on an adventure over the high seas in search of the ultimate prize…treasure!
The play will run in the Tithe Barn, Shiplake College, from Wednesday 3 February to Saturday 6 February. Don’t be disappointed! Tickets are now available; please complete the form below or contact Mrs Sue Arpino at [email protected], telephone 0118 970 4854 to book your tickets!
