Congratulations to Year 9 pupil, Louie Osborne for being awarded with the College’s first ever Prefect’s Pin.
The pins which hold the caption ‘Do the Little Things’, were developed by the College’s Head Boy, Rhys Ash and Head Girl, Estelle Thomas to reward pupils for doing the little things well - the Joint Head of College’s theme for the year.
This could be anything from holding a door open for a member of staff, to picking up litter or being a good ambassador for the school.
In assembly on Monday, Estelle awarded the first badge to Louie after being nominated by Headmaster, Mr Tyrone Howe following a glowing email about his behaviour from a prospective parent.
Estelle, said: “The first badge is awarded to Louie Osbourne, who was nominated for a fantastic tour he did recently. It was so good that the parent wrote to Shiplake to say how well they thought Louie did. They wrote:
“The overall ethos and approach that you offer and the warm, relaxed and happy atmosphere that we spoke about at lunch, was evident as we toured the school with Louie.
“He was a delightful young man, articulate, courteous and confident. His answers to all our questions were thoughtful and honest. He is a terrific ambassador for the school. Please do pass on our thanks and best wishes to him”.
We look forward to seeing more Prefect’s Pins awarded in the near future.
