Back before the Easter holidays, Head of Art, Mr Ramsay launched the April Art Challenge with the help of Year 9 pupil, Monty Walker.
The brief was simple - to spend 10 minutes a day creating a piece of artwork that reflected a daily theme, with Amazon vouchers up for grabs for the most entries. The themes were vast, from robots and big cats to superheroes and buildings.
Each day the new theme was announced via social media and the entries came flooding in with lots of interesting interpretations of the theme.
Mr Ramsay, said: “I loved waking up each morning to see the entries that had been submitted and then setting the next theme.
“It was so exciting to see how the different themes were interpreted, which were entirely different to what I had expected, in a really good way.
“It was interesting to see the different materials used too - some sketched conventionally, but there were also paintings, sculptures and photos.
“I would like to give a shout out to Monty Walker for his help in launching the competition and also for some of his brilliant entries."
And the winners, based on the number of entries from each student were:
- 1st Place Evan Greenway Year 7
- 2nd place Tom Waistell year 9
- 3rd Place Willem Keen and Finn Baikie Year 7
