At the start of term we celebrated the achievements of those pupils who had gone above and beyond in their academic studies during the Autumn Term.
Each term, pupils are assessed to check their progress and whether they are on track to achieve their targets. The assessments will show which pupils have excelled across a range of subjects and those who have gone above and beyond in their learning. Teachers will also identify those pupils who have really engaged in their lessons and have shown the most amount of effort during the term.
Mr Paul Jones, Deputy Head Academic, said: "It is always great to start the term with some academic awards and acknowledging success and hard work."

Accelerated Reader Star Readers
Continuing with the theme of awards, Mr Jones presented pupils with the first accelerated reader awards of the academic year.
Thirteen pupils have been awarded with Star Reader badges and certificates for their reading achievements over the Autumn Term, including one Multi-Millionaire Club reader - M Monahan!
Shiplake uses the Accelerated Reader Scheme to monitor pupils' reading progress and recommend new books to read.
Pupils sit online assessments each term which calculates their reading age and then recommends appropriately challenging books to read.
When the students finish a book, they take an online quiz. If they pass, these words are ‘banked’. At the end of every half-term, pupils who reach reading milestones receive achievement certificates and lapel badges.
The awards are Bronze (more than 250,000 words read), Silver (more than 500,000 words read), Gold (more than one million words read) and the Multi-Millionaire Award. See our winners in the table below.
