During the Autumn Term, the Art Department introduced the Golden Easel to the Skipwith Entrance to showcase the talent of Shiplake's artists.
Each week a winning work of art is put up on the Golden Easel and celebrated for all to see. With a range of materials and techniques used in the different pieces of art it is lovely to see such a colourful display as you enter the building.
Mrs Keli Thomas, Head of Art said: "We have such talented and dedicated artists from all year groups at Shiplake that we thought it would be really nice to show their work to the wider Shiplake community. Art should be visible, celebrated and admired so the Golden Easel is a great way to do this.
"So far we have had watercolours, oils, spray paints, pencils and graphite all used in the artwork chosen for the easel, showing the variety of skills and techniques our pupils use in their work.
"Well done to all the Golden Easel winners so far. We are really looking forward to showcasing more fantastic work over the coming weeks."
Well done to Alex Rowe (Year 13), Henry Johnston (Year 10), Max Redding (Year 11) and Will Smith (Year 8), as well as the winners and highly commended entrants to the mini canvas competition who were displayed on the Golden Easel just before Christmas. The winners from each week will be published in a gallery at the end of each term.
