The creative skills of the Year 10s were put to the test in this year’s smoothie day enterprise event. Teams of 4-6 pupils had to design a smoothie supported by marketing materials to aid the launch of their smoothie.
From a list of 20+ ingredients, pupils could choose a maximum of seven ingredients for their smoothie. They then collected the ingredients from the catering department and got busy with a food processor to mix up their smoothie.
The twelve teams came up with some excellent smoothie ideas but even more impressive was the branding and promotional materials (logo, slogan, packaging and promotional video) that the pupils produced.
The finale of the day was when the students got to set up their stalls in the Great Hall where staff were able to taste test the smoothies and vote for their three favourites. Voting was very tight at the top with two teams tied for second place with their fantastic smoothies and displays.
But winners by one point were Hawaiian Hog! Congratulations to James, Ciaran, Fin, Marcus and Rory.
