At the start of the Summer Term, we have recognised and awarded a number of academic achievements from the Spring Term. With the achievements announced over the last two Whole School Assemblies, Deputy Head (Academic) Mr Paul Jones called up the pupils who had made the greatest improvements in their Progress Reviews, the Pupils of the Term in each academic subject, as well as those who received Accelerated Reader Awards, to receive everyone's applause.
Accelerated Reader Awards
In last week’s Assembly, Mr Jones awarded the following their Accelerated Reader Awards:
- Year 7 Bronze: Rory Stokes
- Year 8 Bronze: Jack Feltham, Fin Padrick, James Weeks, and Daniel Wray,
- Year 8 Silver: James Martin
- Year 9 Bronze: H Cookson, Ethan Fulton, Will Griffith, Harry Maher, and Max Warby
- Year 9 Silver: Warner Lem and N Thornber
- Millionaires: Danny Petrov and Theo Berry
- Multi-Millionaire - Luke Leamon (who has read 2,056, 951 words!)
Congratulations to these pupils who have worked hard to improve their reading fitness.
Progress Review Awards
Before the Easter holidays, pupils received their fourth Progress Review of the year. As is the case at the start of every term, we take the opportunity to congratulate those who have made the greatest progress in their engagement with learning scores between the last two progress reviews. This is essentially pupils' attitude to learning and effort both in and out of the classroom.
Speaking in assembly, Mr Jones said:
'Every single pupil has the potential to receive recognition for this, no matter what your grades currently are. For many of these pupils it is testament to how well you have responded to the feedback contained in your last report.'
