Cakes 'Raise' for Macmillan

The weekly Parent Coffee Morning on Friday 26 September was a particularly special one as about 50 parents and staff gathered in the OVR to take part in Macmillan's World's Biggest Coffee Morning.

There was a delicious aroma of baked goods permeating the air as parents arrived, many laden with their own contributions to the ever-growing array of treats. Over the course of the next hour or so there was a wonderful atmosphere as parents chatted with friends or made new ones, whilst enjoying hot refreshments and a cake (or two!).

Donations flooded in as cakes of all sizes were bought for consumption as a second breakfast or to be saved for later on! There were only a few cakes left over, which were quickly snapped up by staff and pupils during their break time!

A fantastic total of £274.60 was raised for Macmillan, which will go to help those who are affected by cancer. Thank you to all those who contributed cakes or donated and also to parents Karen Lowe, Jo Taylor and Louise Kidd for manning the cake stall!
