On Thursday 7 February, thirty pupils from Years 10 and 11 took part in the Intermediate Mathematics Challenge, hosted by the UKMT.
Approximately thirty of our students participated in the Intermediate Mathematics Challenge. This is a demanding competition organised by the UK Mathematics Trust and, as such, we were delighted that ten of our boys won awards since this is our best return in recent years.
Congratulations to Billy Fundell who achieved the highest score of the Year 10 cohort, and, special mention to Alex Coles who, with a strong Gold Award, has been invited to compete in the next stage of the event later this year.
The UKMT has organised mathematical challenges since 1966, and in 2018, over 650,000 pupils from 4,500 schools took part in at least one of the three main challenges. UKMT also offers summer schools and mentoring services.
