The Headmaster Mr Tyrone Howe introduced the first sports captains for 2020-21 at the Whole School Assembly yesterday. Five captains were announced for rugby, girls' and boys' rowing and girls' hockey. Each captain was invited to introduce themselves and share an interesting fact about themselves.
Dan Hallsworth has been selected as this year's Boys' Captain of Boats. His interesting fact is that he is ambidextrous!
Amelie Gereke was then announced as Girls' Captain of Boats. She loves travelling and learning about different cultures.
Fyn Brown is this year's Captain of Rugby. He has played for Wasps Academy for the past five years.
Finally, Poppy Whitfield and A Galpin are Shiplake's Joint Captains of Girls' Hockey. Poppy is a two time national champion in sycronised swimming and A Galpin was a gymnast for many years.
Well done to all the new captains. There will be further announcements of vice captains over the coming weeks and the captains of sport for football, netball, boys' hockey, cricket and tennis will be announced at the start of their respective terms.
