We had a fantastic response to our Summer Art Competition for prospective families. Pupils from Years 4-6 were invited to colour, paint or even collage a hand drawn picture of Skipwith House by our Head of Art, Mr James Ramsay, as well as get artistic with 'Shiplake' word art.
The idea for the competition came about during lockdown as a way to help engage and entertain primary aged children while the schools were closed.
Choosing the winners was tough. Our head judges, Mr Ramsay and Art Teacher Mrs Thomas spent a lot of time going through all the fantastic entries and were impressed by the high calibre of art work.
Congratulations to Harrison Webb from Peppard Primary, Toby Reynolds from The Beacon School and Paul Newton from Pinewood School for their winning entries. The winners were all sent Amazon vouchers for their outstanding efforts.
Harrison was chosen because of his beautiful use of water colour.
Toby used a variety of art materials to make his entry stand out including glitter and a Union Jack Flag!
Paul used an ombre technique with colouring pencils to make 'Shiplake' pop from the page.
