Skipwith has been crowned as the overall winning House in the Drama Department's hotly contested Year 9 Inter-House Drama Competition.

Each House entered two performers into the competition, either as an individual performance (monologue) or as a pairing (duologue). Each performer was then judged by a panel of guest judges  (Mr Loughe, Mr Lloyd and Mrs Kean) for the Judges' Choice Award, as well as being opened out for the Community Choice Award.

A video of the performances and a voting form was sent to staff, pupils and parents to cast their votes and with more than 200 votes, there was lots of interest in the competition.

Mrs Emma Farrell, Head of Drama, said: "Thank you to everyone who got involved with the Year 9 round of the Inter-House Drama Competition this half term.

"Your support in watching and voting for the performances is appreciated by all of the boys who put so much work into creating such wonderful pieces."

The winning performances came from James Lucking and Jonathan Kowal who performed an extract from Shrek, with James as Shrek and Jonathan as Donkey. Both boys prepared amazingly for the role, with brilliant comedy timing throughout the piece. They even got into character with costume and make-up!
