Over the next couple of weeks tutors will be encouraging pupils to think about their mental health, and that of others and discuss their ideas in tutor groups.
As part of this, Mr Brown will be giving each week a mental health theme.
Last week was about 'looking after each other'. Other themes coming up in forthcoming weeks include; being kind to yourself, staying active, mindfulness and screen time.
This week we will be focusing on being kind to yourself.
Mr Brown said: "There are so many ways in which you can do that. Here are just a few things:
- Eating healthily
- Drinking plenty of water
- Making sure you can sleep or finding ways to improve your sleep
- Giving yourself treats
- Helping others - we know the power of random acts of kindness
- Don't set unrealistic targets
- Concentrate on what went well - remember #3goodthings
Remember the wise words of the mole in Charlie Mackesy's book:"Being kind to yourself is one of the greatest kindnesses."
