We would like to extend a big thank you to the parents and staff who took the time to come along to our Macmillan Coffee Afternoon last Friday, raising an amazing £348 for a very worthy cause.

The Macmillan Coffee Morning is a nationwide event and the world’s biggest coffee morning, as companies, schools, charities and other organisations are encouraged to hold an event on the same day.

The event this year fell on exeat weekend, so we moved it to the afternoon to tie in with parents picking up pupils.

Last year, because of the COVID pandemic, we weren't able to host it so it felt great to be back. It was the first proper opportunity for many parents to meet each other after many months not being able to come on site.

And, the sun was shining down on us so we moved the event from the OVR to the Skipwith Terrace to make the most of the sunshine and the stunning views.

Parents brought in donations of cakes, biscuits and brownies and there was a donation pot on the table. Tea and coffee was kindly donated by Thomas Franks.

Mrs Catherine Brazil, Events and Alumni Officer, said: “This important annual charity event is one of my favourites to be involved in and we were so disappointed that we couldn’t participate last year because of the pandemic.

“Thank you to all the parents who supported the event by either donating cakes or coming along on the afternoon and giving so generously!”
