On Tuesday 8 February James Ort, a contemporary sculptural wire and ceramic artist hosted an all-day wire workshop in the Art Department with all Year 10 students studying GCSE art.
It was a fantastic opportunity for the students to enrich their GCSE art coursework by working three dimensionally for the day with a renowned artist.
Each student created their own wire animal sculpture. We had an array of creatures including giraffes, octopuses, dragons, birds, deer, lizards and foxes.
Mrs Keli Thomas, Head of Art, said: "The students absolutely loved it and enjoyed every minute of the workshop. It even inspired them to work larger on their future projects. James was fantastic with the students and we all really enjoyed the day! We can't wait to have him back soon."
