Summer Art Exhibition 2022

The Great Hall came alive with art just before the half term break as the annual Summer Art Exhibition was launched.

With more than 130 people attending a Private View evening, it was lovely to see so many proud parents, supportive friends and family, Shiplake College governors, the artists themselves and some prospective and soon-to-be joining students come and see what has been the result of lots of hard work by our talented artists.

Mrs Keli Thomas, Head of Art said: "The talent this year was fantastic and every piece was so personal to the individual artist, which we feel makes such a difference. 

"The hall was jam-packed with incredible artwork and the positive comments were well deserved, especially after the disruption of the past two years."

Before the Private View, senior staff and the Art Department were all given a rosette to award to a student they felt deserved recognition for their hard work and amazing artistic talent. This year the winners of the rosettes are:

• Mr Nick Brown (Deputy Head Pastoral: Savannah Mutnakis
• Mrs Keli Thomas (Head of Art): R Howard 
• Mrs Sarah Krause (Teacher of Art): Alex Tang
• Mrs Rebecca Goulden (Teacher of Art): Oscar Smaje 
• Mrs Julie Brooks (Art Technician): Vincent Chen
