Pastoral Boarders' Programme

On Sunday 8 February, a selection of our full boarders visited the National Film Museum in Covent Garden, to take a look around the ‘Bond in Motion’ exhibition. The boys also enjoyed some free time in the London hotspot, taking in the atmosphere and exploring the covered market.

The exhibition holds the largest official collection of original James Bond vehicles. The iconic film series is synonymous with flash cars and futuristic gadgets, many of which were on display. As well as the authentic vehicles used during filming of the 23 blockbuster Bond movies, the exhibition featured numerous examples of the creativity required behind the scenes to bring the special effects to life.

Trip organiser Mr Chris Ham commented: ‘For the Bond enthusiasts amongst the group, this was a perfect opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the most impressive vehicles used in the movies. Alongside the famous Aston Martins were helicopters, boats and some impressive gadgets.

Afterwards the boys enjoyed some free time in Covent Garden, listening to the street musicians and browsing the unique shops. The only downside was that we had to leave just as the stars were arriving for the Baftas!’

The trip was organised as part of the ongoing boarders’ weekend activity programme. This sees staff organise a variety of trips and activities for our full-time residents, which usually take place on Sundays when there is no school programme.
