Another half term has flown by and the arrival of the Easter holidays heralds the beginning of summer sports. As the Shiplake athletes prepare to start training for tennis and cricket, the coaches look back over the last half term, and have chosen another 15 names for the next Headmaster’s XV.

The Headmaster’s XV is not your typical sporting award: not based solely on prowess, the award is given in recognition of those who have been exemplary in their sport over the previous weeks. The Headmaster’s XV also celebrates those sportsmen and women who have displayed a commitment to their chosen sport.

Once names have been put forward by team coaches, it is down to Director of Sport Mr James Gaunt to finalise the decision. Faced with as difficult a decision as ever before, Mr Gaunt commented that ‘with so many teams and different sports this half term I have chosen 20 names to be part of the ‘Headmaster’s XV’! Those acknowledged here should be immensely proud of themselves; they have excelled themselves in their sport and this is recognition of their hard work and unfaltering enthusiasm. Congratulations!'
