Music is a large part of life here at Shiplake College and on Thursday 10 October our Music Department held its first Lunchtime Concert of the year. This was a great opportunity for our young musicians to share the fruits of their labour with a live audience, and for those in attendance and to celebrate their progress.
Performances:
L Ferrer de Arriba (Classical Guitar): Milonga
L Slowikowski (Piano): The Orchard
E Jones (Cornet): What a Wonderful World (Theiss)
S Crehan Mills (Clarinet): Jazz Study: Strawberry Flip
T Waistell (Piano): Boogie No.1: Old Joe Clark’s Boogie
J Miller (Drums): Knife Party: Bomb Fire
Senior Covers Band: Cross Town Traffic (Jimi Hendrix)
Whether they are Grade 1, Grade 8 or anything in between, the lunchtime concerts give our pupils a great chance to perform in front of an encouraging audience of pupil and staff allowing them to grow in confidence as they take their next steps as developing as young musicians.
Thank you to Mr Curran for organising the concert and to all our music teachers for all their hard work with the pupils.
