Two Lunchtime Concerts took place before the half-term break of which one in particular proved to be a special occasion! Firstly, on Friday 19 May, a concert especially for Lower School pupils took place, in which many of the performers were playing on stage for the very first time. And, on the following Friday, 26 May, the final Lunchtime Concert of the academic year took place.
The Lunchtime Concerts are an excellent and exciting opportunity for musicians of all abilities to try their hand at performing in front of pupils and staff, whether it is their first time in front of an audience or whether they are an experienced star in stagecraft and performance. In the case of the Lower School Lunchtime Concert, some of the pupils had only started learning their instrument this year making their performances even more impressive.

It’s certainly an exciting time in the Music Department, especially with the upcoming Shiplake Rocks! Concert on Monday 26 June. The outdoor concert, showcasing many of the College's bands and ensembles, will take place from 7.00pm on Front Field. The summer musical festival will also welcome back many familiar faces, in addition to shining a light on some of our very own talented staff members who will take to the stage.
