At the start of the Summer Term, the Shiplake community enjoyed a special intimate concert which recognised the exceptional talents of the College's music scholars and advanced musicians.

The Soloists' Concert is an integral part of an advanced musician's journey. From classical, romantic, and impressionist works to jazz and folk songs, our young musicians performed a variety of familiar and unfamiliar works. On the night, there were performances by pupils across the College from those in Year 9 all the way to Year 13.

Speaking of the concert, Director of Music Mr Curran said:

‘Thank you to all of this evening’s soloists for providing an evening of song and instrumental music which heralds the start of a vibrant and bright summer term at the College.

Thank you to Mrs Rapple Moore and Ms Hughes for expertly accompanying some of the performers and to you, the audience, for supporting our soloists as they gain valuable experience performing for others.’

Well done to the following pupils for their dedication, hard work, and hours of practice:

  • Sena Hughes
  • Will Griffith
  • Seb Crehan Mills
  • Henry Johnston
  • Elliot Jones
  • Max Marson-Day
  • Noah Scotchbrook
  • Leo Guo
  • Jack Dag
  • Richard Wang

To read more about each of the pieces performed, make sure to check out the concert programme where each pupil wrote a short bio.
