On Thursday 2 March, pupils and staff from across the College gathered in their numbers inside the Lecture Theatre for the second Lunchtime Concert of the term.
The Lunchtime Concerts provide a fantastic opportunity for musicians of all abilities to try their hand at performing on stage in front of pupils and teachers, whether it is their first time on stage or whether they are a veteran in stagecraft and performance.
This concert proved to be no exception with a real mix of experienced and new performers, with performances from Lower School Students all the way to some of our Year 10 Music Scholars and GCSE students.
- Zac Fisher - Flash, Bang, Wallop! David Heneker
- Sebastian Crehan-Mills - Billie’s Song, Valerie Capers; Marche en Rondeau Terrence Greaves
- James Martin - All of Me, John Legend
- Josh Morais - Imagine, John Lennon
- Elliot Jones - Spanish Guitar
- Charles Zhou - Cross-Channel Swim
Our audience, packing out the Lecture Theatre, gave each of the performers a resounding reception and once the last note was played, serenaded our musicians with a fully deserved round of applause. There were also thanks given to those who helped with the sound system and staging, in addition to Mrs Rapple Moore who accompanied on the piano with some pieces.
A huge congratulations to all those who performed today, and thank you to everyone that attended to support. The next Lunchtime Concert will be held on Friday 24 March; we look forward to seeing what is in store then!
