On Friday 24 March, pupils and staff gathered in the Lecture Theatre for the third and final Lunchtime Concert of the Spring Term. It proved to be a wonderful show with a real variety of performances from musicians across the College.
The Lunchtime Concerts provide a fantastic opportunity for musicians of all abilities to try their hand at performing on stage in front of pupils and teachers, whether it is their first time in front of an audience or whether they are a veteran in stagecraft and performance.
This concert was no different with a real mix of experienced and new performers. There were performances from Lower School pupils all the way to some of our music scholars and GCSE pupils.
Well done to the following who performed:
- Leo Slowikowski with Mr Bache – Allegro, Quantz
- Richard Wang - Piano Sonata No. 8 in C Minor, Ludwig Van Beethoven
- G Wackerle - Chamber of Reflection, Mac DeMarco
- Greg Jones and Jonathan Kowal - Hey Joe, Jimi Hendrix
- Luke Leamon - Beatles Medley, The Beatles
- Sena Hughes - I Got You, James Brown

It’s certainly an exciting time in the Music Department, especially with the upcoming Spring Concert on Wednesday 29 March. The Spring Concert, showcasing all of the College's choirs and ensembles, will take place from 7.00pm to 8.00pm in the Sports Hall. All are welcome to this inclusive and inspiring celebration of music.
