Entries are now open for our Shiplake's first ever Virtual Dog (and Non-Dog) Show!

As everyone in the Shiplake Community knows, we are barking mad about dogs and have really missed meeting all of the College’s canine friends at the annual Dog Show, part of FieldFest, which would have taken place at the beginning of the Autumn Term.

Entry into this online event is completely free and open to all members of our community. You can enter as many categories as you like and there is a category to suit everyone so we want to see all the dogs of Shiplake taking part.

Don’t have a dog? Fear not! We are proud to be an inclusive school and have a category entitled ‘the best of the rest’. So grab your geckos, guinea pigs and goldfish and get involved!

Video Entries

  • Top Trick: Submit a video of your pooch performing their best trick
  • You've Been Framed: Submit a video of your dog doing something silly!

Photo Categories

  • Best Buddies: Submit a photo of you or a family member with man's best friend, or maybe your dog has a best friend of their own?
  • Action Hero: Submit a photo of your dog 'doing' something (playing, running, competing etc)
  • Sleeping Beauty: Submit a photo of your dog having a snooze in an interesting place or position!
  • Perfect Paw-Trait: Submit your favourite photo that captures your dog's character
  • Best of the Rest: It's not all about dogs! If you own another pet, whether it's a hamster, cat, fish or snake, we'd love to see a picture of them!

Mrs Catherine Brazil, Events and Alumni Officer said: “It’s been really sad that we have had to cancel our community events this year, so we have been thinking about how we can run some of them online.

“The Virtual Dog (and Non-Dog) Show is a great way of getting as many people in the community involved and celebrating all things Shiplake.”

To enter click here. Entry is free and open to pupils, parents, staff and governors, as well as all other friends of the College including Old Vikings, prospective families and local Shiplake residents. The deadline for entries is Friday 16 October.

Entries with the most votes will have the opportunity to win one of three 'Top Dog' prizes, which is a 400mm x 400mm painting of their pet by local artist Clive Hemsley, also known as The Dog Portrait Artist (RRP £280 each). This prize is generously sponsored by TriQuant Investments Ltd, based in Henley-on-Thames.
