Pupils and staff in College and the Shiplake Community watching at home, were wowed by the musical talents of our pupils in our first Virtual Lunchtime Concert of the academic year last Friday.

Shiplake College has a proud tradition of showcasing the musical achievements of its pupils by encouraging them to get involved with the Music Department’s half termly Lunchtime Concerts. The concerts display the dedication and practice put in by our pupils of all abilities and at various stages in their musical learning.

This half term, due to the ongoing COVID situation, pupils were encouraged to send in videos of their performances so the concert could be streamed on YouTube.

Mr Richard Curran, Director of Music, said: "From pop and classical singing to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody on the piano, it really was a captivating show and the pupils should be really proud of themselves - well done!

"It was particularly wonderful to see our new Year 7 students getting involved and wowing us with their talents. I am very excited to see them flourish in the years to come."
