Lunchtime Music Treats
Music

Over the course of the Spring and Summer Term, we have been treated to five excellent Lunchtime Concerts where pupils from across the College have taken to the stage to perform in front of their peers.

The Lunchtime Concerts are an excellent and exciting opportunity for musicians of all abilities to try their hand at performing in front of pupils and staff, whether it is their first time in front of an audience or whether they are an experienced star in stagecraft and performance.

The concerts are held in the Lecture Theatre and with its dimmed lights and intimate setting, give musicians an excellent chance to perform and show off their skills. In the Autumn Term, we saw a fantastic range of pupils perform across four Lunchtime Concerts and it would prove to be much more of the same in 2024 where we were treated to solo, ensemble, and band performances. It was also fantastic to see many newcomer performances from those who do not necessarily take to the stage at major concerts such as the Winter, Spring, and Soloists Concerts.

Music teacher and organiser of the Lunchtime Concerts, Mr Elliott, said:

‘This year, we have been lucky enough to be treated to some excellent performances from a real range of students, including long time performers as well as many first timers. It has been a joy to see many of our musicians grow and be given the opportunity to perform in a safe and supportive environment which is created by the students who attend the concerts. We are already very excited for next year and look forward to the next series of concerts!’
